Carrickfergus Women's Wine Drinking Club

Saturday 13th January 2024

I can’t believe it has nearly been a week since we hosted the rehearsed play reading Carrickfergus Women’s Wine Drinking Club at the Town Hall.  Written by local writer and actor Maria Connolly and directed by Matthew McElhinney, we also welcomed a talented cast of actors who had us all holding our sides with laughter. Who can forget Marie Jones’s character trying to get her tights off so she could stomp on the wine? There were also really poignant moments as we journeyed through themes of belonging, grief and friendship.

The performance sold out within a few hours and we have had lovely feedback about what a good night it was. We have lots more events lined up that we hope are just enjoyable and we can’t wait to see Maria and the team take Carrickfergus Women’s Wine Drinking Club to even bigger audiences!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this night so enjoyable!
